Instagram Introduced “Link in Bio” Feature

Now there will be holiday for link in bio solution providers forever. Yes it is true, now Meta’s photo and video-sharing platform Instagram rolled out a new feature for adding links in bio (user profile). Announced on last Tuesday in a brief post on Mark Zuckerberg’s broadcast channel, there they added, “link in bio” is the most requested feature they had. The number of links that can be added is 5 as of now, which is I think good enough to improve the engagement especially for influencers to their profile as it helps to direct their followers to the other content easily like the products they are interested to promote.

Adding links ability will be allowed for all the accounts on Instagram which includes business and Creators accounts both. To get the benefits of the feature, users need to go through the Edit profile, Links, and Add external link options, and then arrange the links in their desired order.

Before this Instagram feature, Influencers and brands on Instagram had to rely on third party solution providers like LinkTree, Beacons and others to add external links but now Instagram itself handles this. The links will not be open in a different browser window but within the Instagram app itself. Users who are willing to switch to their built-in browser, like Chrome, need to tap the 3-dot at the top menu of the page and opt for open in system browser.

This is not only Instagram who is providing this option to their users but other platforms like TikTok also allows clickable links in the bios but for business accounts only not to creators and regular users. This step from Instagram will definitely help them to hold the user interest into their platform and provide the maximum benefits to the influencers and brands.
