By making default end-to-end encryption as a base Whatsapp messages should be as private and secure as an in-person conversation. Whatsapp is continuously working on the security and privacy features to win the trust of the users. In continuation of the same efforts, Whatsapp announced a bunch of new security features which will help the users from unauthenticated use of the accounts. Currently, the company is working dedicatedly on the below 3 features. The company also tries to motivate all the users to start end-to-end encryption for backups.

Account Protect:

This feature will be in place by thinking of scenario where a user wants to move the WhatsApp account from one device to another then Whatsapp restrict the user to double check if it really a authorised movement. It prevents unauthorised try to move your WhatsApp chats to another device by asking you on your old device to validate that you want to take this step as an additional security check.

Device Verification:

There is a very common issue in using mobile devices which is malware. There are number of times when unwanted activities happened with Whatsapp users and send junk or unwanted messages to contacts without your permission. By default, Whatsapp added device verification feature that can validate your account without intervention of the user and enhance the protection level even if your device is compromised.

Automatic Security Codes:

To make the life of users easier Whatsapp introduced Automatic Security Codes feature as the app guarantees that the chats are end-to-end encrypted and secure. By just tapping on the encryption tab user will be able to verify their secured connection automatically, provided under the contact’s information.
